Disaster Risk Management

Disaster Risk Management | Azat Foundation

The Challenge in Balochistan

Balochistan landscape

Disasters don't wait—and neither do we. For over two decades, Azat Foundation (AF) has been at the forefront of disaster risk management (DRM) and humanitarian response in Balochistan, one of Pakistan's most disaster-prone regions.

Balochistan faces recurring natural and man-made disasters—chronic drought, flash floods, lethal heatwaves, and earthquakes. Many communities are remote, underserved, and deeply vulnerable, lacking access to early warning systems, healthcare, and safe infrastructure.

Without proactive intervention, each disaster compounds hardship and hinders long-term development.

Quote

"Prepared communities don't just survive disasters—they overcome them."
